General information, not legal advice

The pages, tools and articles on this site give general information about trademarks and related rights. They are not legal advice and do not take your own situation into account. Laws, fees and procedures differ from country to country and change over time, so some information may be out of date when you read it. Country pages that say they are being checked by our specialists have not yet been fully verified.

When you become our client

Reading this site, using a tool on it or sending us a message does not make you our client. This is also true of the free first consultation. We start work only after you have approved our written quote. The quote names origis IP LLC as the company you contract with. Until then, please send us only what we ask for, and do not send ID numbers, health information, payment details or passwords.

No guarantee of results

Trademark offices, courts and domain name panels decide for themselves, on their own timetable. We cannot promise that a mark will be registered, that an objection will be overturned, that a dispute will be won, or that a search will find every earlier right. Times that we or the offices mention are estimates.

Searches have limits

A search covers the registers and sources we say it covers, on the day we look. Very recent applications may not be visible yet, and a business may use a name without having registered it. A clear search lowers a risk. It does not remove it.

Fees and prices

Official fees are set by the offices and can change without notice. The amounts on this site were checked on the date shown on the Prices page, and the quote you receive states the amounts in force on the day. Euro and dollar figures are estimates based on exchange rates. Our fee and the official fee are always shown separately. Whether an official fee that has already been paid to an office can be returned is for that office to decide. How payment, cancellation and refunds work between you and us is explained on Payment and refunds.

Work done through partners

Disputes, such as oppositions, cancellation actions, appeals, court cases and domain name complaints, are carried out by partners in the country concerned, under the rules of that country. We coordinate the matter and remain your point of contact. We send you a written quote before any dispute work begins. See Trademark Disputes.

What you tell us

We rely on what you tell us. Please make sure that the details you give are correct and complete, and that you are entitled to use the mark and the material you send us. Some filings, such as a declaration of use, are signed for you and must be true.

We link to official sources, such as trademark offices. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they say.

Our responsibility

We take care over the information on this site and over the work we do for our clients. We cannot be responsible for decisions that someone makes only because of the general information on this site. Nothing in this notice limits any responsibility that cannot be limited by law.
