Why renewal matters
Most countries grant a trademark for a fixed term, commonly ten years, and then ask the owner to renew it. If the date is missed, the registration can be lost, and getting the same protection back may mean starting again.
Some countries also ask for extra steps at set points, such as a statement that the mark is in use. Each country has its own rules, and we work from the rules of the country concerned.
